What is the potential scale of community solar’s impact and how can we achieve it?
What is the potential scale of community solar’s impact and how can we achieve it? The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s National Community Solar Partnership Annual Summit took place virtually this Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. ET to connect community solar stakeholders and explore how community solar is deploying benefits and delivering impact at scale.
As a lead for community solar projects and the Community Power Accelerator Prize, Mana Pacific’s UN, Energy Policy, and Project Manager, Sierra Jackovics, was invited to present as a panelist during the summit on “Funding the Future of Community Solar: Resourcing the Full Development Ecosystem.” She was joined by moderator Alexandria Robins at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and fellow panelists Chris Diaz at Seminole Financial Services, Emily Robichaux at Opportunity Finance Network, John Haenselman at Amalgamated Bank, and JOSEPH S. at ADL Solutions, LLC.
This panel discusses financing as the most persistent barrier to deploying more community solar, as well as strategies, learnings, and best practices for overcoming this barrier. Participants also heard about how to leverage the Community Power Accelerator and other resources to support a sustainable financing ecosystem.
