Mana Pacific was honored to participate in the Pacific Regional Symposium held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, where Dr. Nailasikau Halatuituia, Managing Director for Project Origination at Mana Pacific Inc., emphasized the importance of expanding the region’s renewable energy transition beyond infrastructure alone.
Mana Pacific was honored to participate in the Pacific Regional Symposium and Energy Statistics Training Workshop held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, from April 29–May 1, 2026, where Dr. Nailasikau Halatuituia, Managing Director for Project Origination at Mana Pacific Inc., emphasized the importance of expanding the region’s renewable energy transition beyond infrastructure alone.
“The renewable energy transition in Oceania must shift from a narrow energy strategy to a broader development strategy,” Dr. Halatuituia stated.
Throughout the symposium, Dr. Halatuituia continued to advocate for renewable energy models that place local and indigenous landowners at the center of project development, ownership, and long-term value creation.
“Community ownership models are critical to advancing indigenous participation, local value creation, and long-term resilience. The true measure of success is not only the megawatts delivered, but who owns the assets, captures the value, and makes the decisions.”
Mana Pacific believes that clean energy projects in the Pacific must do more than generate power. They must strengthen communities, support economic sovereignty, create local opportunities, and ensure that Pacific Island communities have a meaningful role in shaping their own energy future.
“When indigenous communities serve as partners, co-owners, and decision-makers, renewable energy becomes more than just infrastructure—it becomes a pathway to economic sovereignty and sustainable development.”
As Mana Pacific continues to advance renewable energy projects across Oceania, we remain committed to development models that prioritize affordability, resilience, local participation, and long-term community benefit.
