With over 20 years of leadership experience spanning manufacturing, private equity,
and global operations, he has successfully redefined corporate strategies, integrated
acquisitions, and positioned organizations for long-term success.
As CEO of Walbro, LLC, Mike spearheaded strategic initiatives that propelled the
company’s fuel systems business to unprecedented growth. Under his leadership, the
business expanded market share, commercialized innovative products, and executed
multiple M&A transactions that delivered a 54% IRR for investors—five years ahead of
schedule. His ability to optimize operations, foster high-performance cultures, and
implement lean methodologies has consistently translated into increased profitability
and market dominance.
Prior to CEO at Walbro, Mike served as Chief Operating Officer, managing 2,500
employees across 10 global facilities. His leadership was instrumental in reducing costs,
improving supply chain efficiency, and securing top-tier supplier awards from industry
leaders like Honda. His expertise in aligning product strategy with market demand has
driven sustained revenue growth across multiple industries.
Before his tenure at Walbro, Michael co-founded The Accession Group, a private equity
firm that successfully acquired and revitalized manufacturing assets. His strategic vision
transformed underperforming businesses into high-value assets, leveraging lean
production techniques and targeted market expansion.
Michael’s leadership journey began as a Captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
where he honed his skills in operational execution, team leadership, and strategic
problem-solving. He holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of
Science in Engineering (summa cum laude) from the United States Military Academy at
West Point.
