SUVA, Fiji, July 12th, 2022 – During the 51st Pacific Island Forum island leaders, heads of State, Government, and Territories convened in discussions about Pacific regionalism and cooperation. During this meeting Mana Pacific’s Moana Pledge Initiative was presented to the leaders of of Australia, the Cook Islands Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, the Republic of Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. The Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Environment for the Republic of Palau, Mr. Steven Victor, introduced Mana Pacific’s President, John Miller to present an overview of the transpacific agreement for aggregated development of renewable energy, and island resiliency projects for the “Blue Pacific Continent.” Final remarks, and a call to action for other countries to sign onto the Moana Pledge were provided by President Surangel S. Whipps Jr. of the Republic of Palau.
